Let’s give it up for Minnesota. An outdoor wonder. Each part of our state has it’s own unique topography, and here in the Lakes Area, we have so much outdoor beauty worth exploring. At Bold North Cellars, we are planning to have 3 miles of outdoor trails for customers to enjoy starting in late 2022.
Bold North Cellars property
Did you know that the Bold North Cellars property spans 190 acres? Altogether our vineyard makes up about 25 acres. Carlos Creek Winery, 22 Northmen Brewing Co., Stoke Wood-Fired Pizza Kitchen, Sizzle Food Truck, and the Grand Hall Event Center make up another 25 acres. The rest of the property is natural, and with good purpose.
140 acres of the property is currently undeveloped wetland, prairie, and forest which helps support local waterfowl and insect populations, including wildflowers for bees.
We are always thinking about new and different experiences for our customers and our community. In particular, we’ve been working toward making a more conscious effort for people to enjoy our natural spaces.
Creating trails at Bold North Cellars
We’ve been thinking about creating trails on our property for some time. In late 2022, it started to come to life. Our grounds crew has been working hard creating three miles of trail. It will have different loop options — starting from Carlos Creek Winery/22 Northmen Brewing or in a parking lot closer to the woods. In November they spent two days clearing the main trail and another three to four days trimming and cleaning.
After the work is finished, we should be ready to welcome you on the trails sometime before the new year! Accessing the trails will be free of charge, and we will have snowshoes for rent on property. Just imagine going out on a beautiful January day and returning to a warm pizza at Stoke with a glass of your favorite. We’re excited to offer this as a part of our Bold North experience.
