Welcome to the Bold North! Whether you’re new or have been here your whole life, Minnesota winters can be TOUGH. The snow, the dark, the windchill, all the layers! It can be enough to make just about anyone snap. Luckily, our Bold North Cellars Winter Survival Guide has some ideas to keep you going through the coldest of months!
1. Get a change of scenery
We get it – unless you are a winter fanatic, it can seem like the biggest chore to leave the house when it’s a frozen tundra outside. But trust us, a change of scenery will do you good. You don’t have to go anywhere in particular, but a fun destination makes you more likely to open the front door, right?

2. Keep moving
Get active! Whether it’s YouTube yoga or slipping on snowshoes, it never hurts to get your blood pumping a little bit. Celebrate your accomplishments with a glass of your favorite beverage afterwards. If you’re opting outside, we have mini bottles of CCW wine that are the perfect size to take with you on all of your adventures!
3. Use your brain
You know what they say about an idle mind, so make sure to give your brain a workout too! Join us at Geeks Who Drink Trivia every Wednesday night through the spring at 22 Northmen Brewing Co. We have $3 off apps and $5 beers from 4:00-7:00 PM and trivia runs from 6:30-8:30 PM!
4. Spend quality time with others
Hang out with the people you care about! Whether that means staying in with a good bottle of wine and Netflix or heading out to see some live music, quality time with your people will do the soul good.
Join us at Bold North Cellars for awesome live music every weekend in the winter – Fridays 6-9 PM (brewery) and Saturdays 2-5 PM (winery) and 6-9 PM (brewery).
5. Eat a good meal
Good food is a good mood. Stoke is serving up delicious eats all winter long with rotating pizzas of the month, Wood-fired Wing Wednesdays, and Thicc Thursdays (Detroit-Style thick pizzas). Warm up with the perfect meal!
6. Perfect the art of cozy
Last but not least, perfecting the art of cozy is a game changer. Stock up on anything and everything that helps you stay warm and brings a smile to your face! We’ve got cozy sweatshirts, warm hats, candles, and delicious wine-infused coffee (0% alcohol) in our Tasting Room. Grab your favorite CCW wines there too, or order them online. 22 Northmen also has an awesome selection of warm winter items and growlers to go!
These are our best suggestions for surviving the Minnesota winter. What are your favorite ways to get through the colder months?
