2022 Stomp for a Cause

Grape Stomp 2022

It’s hard to put into words just how amazing Grape Stomp 2022 was. Overall attendance was the second-highest of all time and everyone who visited brought the best energy with them. It was awesome to see so many new and familiar faces enter through the gates! Not only was the festival a success, but we were also able to raise over $6,000 to support our local community with our Stomp for a Cause.

Stomp for a Cause history

Stomp for a Cause has been a Grape Stomp staple for six years. A fundraising effort for local organizations, a portion of the proceeds from admission ticket sales go to charity every year. It all began back in 2016 when the Bredeson family decided they wanted to find another way to give back.

“As Grape Stomp evolved, we knew we wanted to find a way to give back to our community. With Stomp for a Cause, we select a deserving group within surrounding communities and donate a portion of admission ticket proceeds to their cause,” Bredeson said.

This year, one dollar from every Saturday Admission ticket sale was donated to West Central Minnesota Communities Action, a 501c3 nonprofit organization that has been around for over 50 years. WCMCA partners to “build community and empower people to overcome poverty and achieve their full potential.”

“West Central Minnesota Communities Action does so much to support our local communities. Their efforts are simply amazing and we’re so grateful for all that they do,” Bredeson said.

The organization provides energy assistance, affordable housing, weatherization, Head Start, emergency homeless services, supervised visitation, free tax preparation. Home Care and Repair, Ready Ride Transportation and benefits assistance (such as MNsure navigation and more).

Thanks to everyone who came out on September 17, a total of $6,076 was donated to WCMCA.

“These dollars will go towards housing – helping people either find permanent housing or remain in their households, said Heather Molesworth, Director of Family & Community Services for West Central Minnesota Communities Action. “We’ll also use it for hotel vouchers so if somebody presents homeless and they need a place to stay we’ll use dollars to put them up in a hotel.”

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate, and to our awesome staff and amazing community. We couldn’t have done it without you!

“A special shout out to our outstanding community,” Bredeson said. The help that comes from so many in the area is truly a blessing we don’t take for granted. We love being a part of this community so much, and can’t thank everyone enough for their involvement and support year after year.”

We’ll be counting down the days until next year’s Stomp September 15-17, 2023. Check our Grape Stomp website this spring and summer for details, including the organization we’ve chosen for the 2023 Stomp for a Cause.
